Jeffrey W. Covert

Jeff joined Contemporary Business Solutions in 1999 as partner-in-charge of the tax and litigation support departments.  Prior to joining CBSI, Jeff was Treasurer and Secretary of Startec, Inc. from 1997 until December 1999.  Startec, Inc., located in Dublin, Ohio, is a small publicly held company that develops environmentally related products for the waste-to-energy market.  While at Startec, Inc., Jeff was responsible for accounting, cash management, strategic planning and tax matters covering the parent company and three subsidiary companies, including an international operation.  Jeff has also been an adjunct faculty member at Franklin University in Columbus, Ohio teaching courses in income taxation in the undergraduate program.  Prior to joining Startec, Jeff was President and shareholder of the public accounting firm Covert & Yazel, Inc. from 1988 through 1997.  Covert & Yazel was a local CPA firm working with the financial and tax affairs of small to medium sized business in diverse industries and professions as well as individuals.  Covert & Yazel had approximately 500 clients, a staff of five and only two principals (partners).  Jeff has been in public accounting 30 years and holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting from The Ohio State University and a Masters of Accountancy Degree from Miami University.
